A spring in our anti slip step…

Despite the fact that previous elections conclusively prove many of us find it extremely difficult to place one simple cross in just one box, we were being asked to consider ranking candidates in order of preference, these preferences would then be used to decide the election outcome in areas where no candidate won more than 50% of votes cast…?

Multiple crosses required in numerous boxes…oh dear…mind numbingly confusing for all!

The Alternative Vote could have resulted in fringe candidates like the "If I get elected I'll make all Volvo drivers turn their lights off Party" having a voice in Government. Even worse, we could inadvertently be crossing boxes for candidates who continue to buy Richard Clayderman albums which inevitably would have lead to political chaos!

Thankfully all now conjecture as the AV debate is now dead…as is Osama Bin Laden (no comment)

Henry Cooper (heroic Brut cologne'd boxer), Seve Ballesteros (iconic golf legend) and possibly…The Liberal Democrats (try Wikipedia to find out who they were)
